Cardiovascular Management

The team of doctors at Gold Coast Women's Health are able to perform a range of tests, including ECG's, in our dedicated procedure room, assessing lifestyle and physical activity to diagnose a variety of cardiovascular conditions and disease.

Once all tests have been completed an appropriate treatment plan will be provided, be it anything from weight and blood pressure management to medication.

ECG TESTING

The electrocardiograph (ECG) test is designed to test the rhythm of the heart and blood pressure to check for problems with the electrical activity of the heart.

Specialising in Cardio Care

Taking no longer than 20 minutes for a routine ECG test, minimal preparation is required. As we aim to provide a safe, non-invasive and painless test, we ask that all patients remove jewellery prior to the test.

Heart Health Check

Cardiovascular disease and stroke are the leading cause of death for both men and women in Australia. Many people may not be aware of their own risk factors such as high blood pressure or high cholesterol which can lead to coronary heart disease.

What is a Heart Health Check?

During a Heart Health Check, your GP and/or our practice nurse will review your medical history and lifestyle, and check your blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels in order to get an overall picture of your heart health. Your GP can then help to put together a plan for you to reduce your risk and look at any necessary medication.

How much does a Heart Health Check cost?

You may be eligible for a bulk billed Heart Health Check if you are aged 45 years or over. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are eligible from 30 years of age for a bulk billed Heart Health Check.
